How to: Set Up Onramp Banking Profile
Once you receive your initial prequalification, you can get started on your account and banking setup. This is required to receive your cash offer and we'll help you through it.
If you get stuck at any point, we're here to help!
Step 1: Connect your funding source
There are two ways you can connect your bank account.
- PlaidLink - this is the preferred method as it is instant connection and verification (speed!)
- Manual Connection via Micro-deposits - this will take 1-2 days to verify your account
1. Connect account via PlaidLink
If your institution does not integrate with Plaid, we'll take care of the bank connection later! Skip to Business Profile Set Up.
If your institution does integrate with Plaid, let's jump in. Follow these steps:
- Click Link Your Bank button on your dashboard
- Click LINK BANK ACCOUNT! - this will open the Plaid window
- You will now complete the rest of the steps within the Plaid window
- If you need to leave the window at any time, click the X at the top of the Plaid box to go back to Onramp
- If successful, you will get a confirmation page
- Click Continue to get back to Onramp

2. Connect account via Micro-Deposits
If your institution does not integrate with Plaid, we'll take care of the bank connection later! Skip to Business Profile Set Up.
If your institution does integrate with Plaid, let's jump in. Follow these steps:
- Click Link Your Bank button on your dashboard
- Click Skip this step under green button
You can now skip to the next section as we'll take care of your bank later!
Step 3: Review the Banking Setup Authorization and Terms
Review Onramp's terms and our Banking partner Dwolla's terms. Questions on something you read - we're here to answer!
Click AGREE AND CONTINUE
Step 4: Business Profile Set Up
We'll need a little more info to complete your Onramp profile.
This is broken up into 3 sections:
- General Business Information
- Registered Address/Mailing Address
- Controller Information
1. Business Information
Everything with an * is mandatory
- *Business Name - automatically populates from the signup page - you can leave as is or edit
- Other Business DBA’s
- *Employer Identification Number - IRD issued number
- *Secretary of State Filing Number
- *Notification Email Address - where do you want Onramp emailing you?
- *Phone Number - where should we call you?
- *Business Type - we do not work with Sole Proprietorship
- Industry
2. Registered Address / Mailing Address
This is the address of your business. If you do not have a physical location, use the address your business is registered under.
Everything with an * is mandatory.
- *Address 1
- Address 2 - Apt, Suite, #, etc.
- *City
- *State
- *Postal Code
Check the box if Registered Address & Mailing Address are the same. If not, populate the Mailing Address info.
3. Controller
A controller is a natural person who holds significant responsibilities to control, manage or direct a company or other corporate entity (i.e. CEO, CFO, General Partner, President, etc). A company may have more than one controller, but only one controller’s information must be collected.
Step 5: Banking Setup: Required Information
Before sending cash, we'll need to collect some personal and business information required by U.S. law.
Please enter each field carefully, and ensure that any personal and business name values match with official documentation. Note that multiple incorrect submissions could cause an account lockout with our banking partner Dwolla.
The following information is passed securely directly to our partner Dwolla to comply with Know Your Customer verification laws. Use of this banking information is subject to our Dwolla ACH Policy.
1. Business and Controller Information
All fields are required to advance.
If the person you provided info for is also your Beneficial Owner, check the box provided.
Beneficial Owner as defined by our funding partner Dwolla.
2. Controller Personal Verification Document
Upload a personal identification image for the business controller.
Dwolla accepts file types of JPG, JPEG and PNG. Max file size is 10MB.
3. Business Verification Document
Business Identifying documents we recommend uploading can include the following:
- EIN Letter (IRS-issued SS4 confirmation letter)
- Filed and stamped Articles of Organization or Incorporation
- Sales/Use Tax License
- Business License
- Certificate of Good Standing
File types can be JPG, JPEG, PNG or PDF.
Step 6: Banking Setup: Beneficial Owners
Please indicate each individual who owns 25% or more of the equity interests of your business.
The Controlled provided on the previous page will automatically show as an Owner. You can add another owner via the NEW BENEFICIAL OWNER button on the top right.
Once all owners listed:
- Check the box to certify
- Click CERTIFY OWNERSHIP.
Step 7: Connect your funding source via Micro-Deposits
If you did not connect your bank in the first step, we can now manually connect your bank. This will require micro-deposit verification that can take 1-2 days to verify your account.
