How to Get a Walmart Merchant Loan in 2026: Marketplace Capital and Alternatives

How Walmart Marketplace sellers get a merchant loan or advance in 2026, through Walmart Marketplace Capital or an open-application provider, and how to fund peak season.

How to Get a Walmart Merchant Loan in 2026: Marketplace Capital and Alternatives

Walmart Marketplace sellers have two main routes to a merchant loan or advance. The first is Walmart Marketplace Capital, where offers come from Walmart or approved third-party providers such as Parafin, based on your Walmart sales and performance. The second is an independent provider with an open application, such as Onramp Funds, which requires a legal US business entity, at least $10,000 in average monthly sales, and at least six months of selling history, with no personal credit check to see an offer.

This guide explains how each route works, what you need, and how to use either one to fund inventory and Sponsored Products ahead of the holidays.

Option 1: Walmart Marketplace Capital

Walmart Marketplace Capital is Walmart's program for connecting sellers with working capital. To be considered, Walmart says you must be a current US Walmart Marketplace seller with a US Taxpayer Identification Number. Beyond that, each capital provider, whether Walmart or a third party, sets its own criteria, which include your Marketplace sales and performance record.

The best-known partner is Parafin, which joined the program in September 2024 ahead of that holiday season. Parafin describes its offers as one fixed capital fee with no interest or late fees, repaid as a percentage of sales, with repayment periods of up to nine months. Parafin decides eligibility and terms using your sales data.

  • How you get it: offers are surfaced to eligible sellers in Seller Center. Offer amounts depend on your Marketplace sales and performance.
  • Who funds it: third-party offers are funded and serviced by the provider, not by Walmart.
  • What it counts: Walmart sales. Revenue from other channels does not raise a Walmart-based offer.

Option 2: Onramp Funds

Onramp Funds is an independent provider that accepts Walmart Marketplace sellers through an open application, so you do not need to wait for an offer in Seller Center.

  • Eligibility: a legal US business entity, at least $10,000 in average monthly sales, and at least six months of selling history, with no personal credit check to see an offer.
  • Platforms: Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, TikTok Shop, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Squarespace, Shopline and Stripe. If you sell on Walmart and elsewhere, your offer is based on combined sales.
  • Cost: The fee is flat, disclosed upfront, and non-compounding, as low as 9% of the funded amount ($4,500 on $50,000). Subject to credit eligibility; rates and terms may vary. Longer terms cost more, and your offer states the exact fee.
  • Repayment: a share of daily sales that moves with revenue, a fixed weekly or biweekly schedule over one to twelve months, or a rolling cash line.
  • Speed: funds typically arrive in one to two business days.

Funding Walmart peak season

Walmart sellers face a specific timing problem in Q4. Walmart Fulfillment Services inventory has to be in place before the holiday rush, Sponsored Products costs rise, and payouts arrive on Walmart's schedule rather than when your supplier invoice is due. Before you take an offer from either route:

  1. Know what each order leaves you. The Walmart Seller Fee Calculator shows what you keep after referral and WFS fees, and how the payout timing works.
  2. Set your inventory deadline. The Safety Stock and Reorder Point Calculator gives your latest safe order date and units to order.
  3. Size the capital. The eCommerce Funding Calculator shows how much your plan needs and your cash with and without an advance.
  4. Plan for January. Repayment continues after the peak. Make sure it fits the slower weeks.

How to apply with Onramp Funds

  1. Create an Onramp Funds account and connect your Walmart Marketplace store, plus any other channels you sell on.
  2. Confirm you meet the criteria: US business entity, $10,000 or more in average monthly sales, and six months of history.
  3. Connect your business bank account.
  4. Review your offer and choose a repayment structure. Funds typically arrive in one to two business days after you accept.
